My husband's uncle is floyd akerley. I know he was in the 30th infantry 119th regiment and I believe the training took place in alabama. Floyd made it through the war and stayed behind for the clean up but from what we are told the boys went out celebrating there going home in Germany on June 10th 1945. That night the truck he was riding in with his buddies crashed into a tree and Floyd was thrown out of the truck and killed instantly. There were no surviver's in that wreck. Also in my searching my cousin was asking about his grandfather Ronald Coy who served in WW I and in WW II. I was shocked when I asked him about his grandfather and he said he was killed in an auto accident. My husband and I was in shock. I was wondering if anyone know's of him eithe and if they have any info or know of all the soldiers involved in Floyd's accident and what there name's were.I was looking for any old picture's of floyd in the service or any document's that may have Floyd in them. I am putting family history books together for myself and for my husband's family and really would like to have the info on Floyd and his infantry so that our future generations know what happened and what the war was like for those soldier's. I believe somewhere there is a newspaper clipping on that and I would really like a copy if I can find it. Please email me at pcurry001@hvc.rr.com Thanks
