My father was known as Dipper Keen -- he was from Hulmeville, Pennsylvania and I know that his Lt. was Dave Foresman. Dad won the Silver Star for serving as a runner when his company was cut off in Staumont, Belgium during the Bulge.
He and others were taken prisoner but were liberated by friendly forces on Christmas Eve, 1944 -- some Christmas present. That basically is what I know about him in the 30th.
Dad passed away April 3, 1963 from lung cancer when I was a month shy of 13; he never talked about his service until after he was diagnosed, and I was too young to really appreciate what he went through and didn't know what to ask whe he WAS talking.
Now I would like to know more about him -- where he served -- what he went through -- but I need help.
Any vets who served with him -- please contact me at: bengal442@aol.com -- and thank you -- for what you did -- and for helping me get to know my Father better.
