Although i was born many years after the second world war (1983) i know that without the american soldiers my life in Holland would be very different. I recently adopted the grave of Odis M Isaac at henri Chapelle in Belgium.

At the time of his death SSGT Odis M. Isaacs (38294449) was serving with the 119th Infantry 30th Division. He died on 19 December 1944 and is now buried in plot C row 01 grave 33. He entered the service in Arizona.

I vist the grave every 2 weeks to bring flowers. I just started doing research on mister Isaacs. I can't find a lot about his life during the war. I hope to find out how and where he died. And hope to know more about him during and before the war. I hope you can help me with my research.

I am looking for some information about my grandfather Arthur Gaddy from Missouri. He was with the 30th division and was lucky enough to make it home. He landed on Omaha Beach 6 days after D-day. Due to German planes strifing the beach, he couldn't get off the beach for a couple of days. He's been to Paris, survived the Battle at St. Lo, made it through the Battle of the Bulge at Christmas 1944, and he made it all the way to the Rhine River. He never crossed the river. I've heard my mom share a little bit of what he did. My grandad I believe became a sergant before the war ended. He cared deeply for his men. He never talked about his experience. I do remember him saying he was upset during a battle where the bombs landed in the wrong place. On researching, I think he was referring to the Battle of St. Lo.

I would love to find someone that knew my grandad so I can at least hear some more stories. Arthur passed away several years ago. I have my own family and I would like to let them know what their great granddaddy did.

(ironically, he made it through the whole war without a scratch. It was after the war ended and some guns were shooting off during celebration that he got some sharpnel in his arm. He tried to not accept the medal saying "give it someone else that deserves it more." Needless to say, you can't argue with the military)

My father served in the 119th Infantry somerewhere in Germany during Sept. toNovember 23, 1944 when he died from wounds recieved in action. This happened in Friealdenhoven , Germany in a school building on November 21, 1944. He died in a field hospital somewhere in Holland on 11-23-44. I would so like to locate anyone who might have been with himduring this time, perhaps even a nurse at the field hospital. He was buried at Margarten until 1948 at which time my grandmother had him brought back to a family cemetary in north Alabama. He volunteered for service at Scottsboro Al. in April 44, did basic training at Camp Wheeler Ga. I was seven years old at this time.
I now belong to AWON, American World War II Orphans Network. There were 183,000of us and until recent years we felt so different and suffered alone. My Grandfather (Scott Kennedy, Clarksburg, West Virginia) served 19 Oct 1942 - 12 Dec 1945. He was a Private First Class in the 120th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division. I'm seeking anyone who may have served with him or who has information concerning what company he served with. He served during the following campaigns: Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, & Central Europe.
